We use heavy bags in our classes so you can get your frustrations of the day out on the bag. And go home much nicer. 🙂
Kickboxing is a fantastic head to toe workout! It is a great way to get in a resistance and cardio workout to maximize your weight loss or fitness goals.
Classes will keep you moving, even if you need to modify and step in place to keep your heart rate up in between sets. Kickboxing workouts can torch up to 900 calories per hour because you are not only striking a bag but meeting resistance hitting it as well.
Body weight exercises done in class and the striking done in class will increase your body strength. Gaining strength is not only important to help you with daily tasks but it is also a great way to help protect your joints from injury. And it helps rev up your metabolism since muscle is metabolically active and burns more calories than fat. Therefore, even when you’re resting, your body is burning more calories.
Tone Your Body
Kickboxing is a full head to toe workout. You will tone your arms and legs through the different strikes on the bag during class.
Learn how to kick and punch
You will learn the correct way to punch and kick. Skills that give you the added benefit of self defense.
Hitting a bag to get out the frustrations of the day is almost therapeutic. It feels good to get that release and leave the class feeling calmer. It may also help you sleep better at night!
The different combinations of punches and kicks in class will help strengthen your core and develop your reflexes. As you learn the movement sequences, your coordination will improve as well.
Increase energy levels
With your heart pumping harder during class and all the oxygen rich blood flowing in your body, you will feel like you have more energy. “A lot of times when people are fatigued, the last thing they want to do is exercise,” says researcher Patrick O’Connor, PhD, in a news release. “But if you’re physically inactive and fatigued, being just a bit more active will help,” says O’Connor, co-director of the University of Georgia exercise psychology laboratory, in Athens, Ga. Socialize & meet new friends
Be around people who are on the same journey as you and make some new friends. Our environment is very friendly and we have a mix of new people and more experienced people in every class. We work hard in class but also have fun together.
