Ready to Learn Highly Effective, Reality Based Self Defense?

Combat Hapkido & Kali Are For All Ages and Fitness Levels!

CT Krav Maga & MMA is affiliated with the International Combat Hapkido Federation founded by Grandmaster John Pellegrini.

This art is so highly effective that it has been used to train Police, SWAT Teams, United States Air Force, US Naval Intelligence, NATO Forces Europe and Anti-Terrorist Units to just name a few.

Combat Hapkido represents one of the most well-rounded fighting techniques in the world, and is a great compliment to our Krav Maga training.

Our Kali techniques are based primarily on our affiliation with Paul Kischkum.  Kali is a Filipino martial art, which teaches weapons training with escrima sticks before bare hand-to-hand combat.

Combat Hapkido Training

Combat Hapkido training is very comprehensive because it covers all the distances that can take place in an assault:

  • long range (kicking)
  • middle range (boxing, elbows, kneeing)
  • short range (grabbing, grappling)
  • Kali blade and stick work

Combat Hapkido includes an extensive variety of strikes, kicks, joint locks,  ground survival and disarming techniques. You do not need to be athletic or physically strong to master this art.

Combat Hapkido is a great compliment to Krav Maga because it digs deeper into understanding impact weapons and edged weapons.

Kali Training

Kali training focuses first on training with blades and impact weapons (e.g. escrima sticks). Next, training moves to open hand-to-hand combat, commonly referred to as dirty boxing.

The same techniques taught with blades and sticks are also taught open handed.  Hand-to-hand techniques in Kali are based in the principles that underlie the historical stick and sword movements.

Kali training is considered to be a very well rounded and practical self defense system because it teaches the student how to respond to an attack from a variety of distances.

The other appeal with Kali is that it is not based on fancy or complicated moves. The art is based on being able to respond successfully during an assault, when stress levels are running high.

Kali does not compete with any other martial art and is a great complement to Krav Maga and Combat Hapkido.
