Many women want to learn self defense but feel a little unsure of working out with men in class when they are first starting out. As a result, you have access to a women’s only class to learn Krav Maga self defense. This class is for your if:

Through Krav Maga training, you will gain situational awareness and sharpen your instinctive reflexes for defending yourself, your family or your children. Part of the Krav Maga philosophy is the best way to win a fight is to not get in a fight. You will learn how to de-escalate a situation for the best case scenario. However, if a situation occurs where you need to respond physically, you will learn how to most quickly neutralize the situation while remaining calm. The other night I was out with a couple friends. Some guy who had too much to drink came up to us and start talking some serious trash. He seemed really hostile, like he might start a fight with us too.

The thing is, even though I was with 4 other guys… I locked up. It was like I froze. The way the guy was yelling and waving his arms around just caught me off guard, and I was worried for myself and my friends. I felt really embarrassed afterward. Ashamed. As a man, you feel like you should be this “Rambo” guy who can handle himself. I don’t wanna be Rambo or anything, but I at least want to know that I can defend myself.

I haven’t been taking Krav Maga for very long. But even with the short amount of time I’ve been learning – I know for a FACT that if anything like that ever happened again, I’d be able to defend myself and my friends.

I don’t mean to say I wanna go around picking fights or anything. But sometimes fights find you. And if another one ever does – I’ll feel safe, for myself and whoever I’m with.

I always painted martial arts classes to be these crazy, tough things (and kind of intimidating too). I mean you wear these uniforms and have to bow to people and it just really didn’t seem like my kind of thing.

After starting Krav Maga, I realize it’s kind of the “rebel” of martial arts. You DON’T have to wear a uniform – just bring comfy gym clothes. There’s also no bowing or anything else that makes martial arts seem unapproachable.

Krav Maga FAQ's

What kind of physical shape do I need to be in?

Any! We have Krav Maga students who are in great shape, and others who aren’t. Everyone has a great experience, and learns a ton in every class. Those who start out in not-so-great shape often get in shape very quickly. So if this is you, have no fear! Just come and enjoy Krav Maga.

What should I do if I have a medical condition?

If you have a medical condition, a past injury that required surgery and still troubles you from time to time, or anything else that may be of concern… Please speak to a medical professional before joining our classes. Chances are you’ll be more than able to come and enjoy learning Krav Maga. But there may be certain exercises that you’ll have to take it slow on. Just let us know what your doctor says!

Are these classes violent? Can I get hurt?

People often associate martial arts with violence. After all, you’re learning self-defense techniques. However, there’s a big difference between self-defense and violence. Self-defense means you seek a peaceful way of life, only defending yourself is you absolutely have to. Violence means seeking out hostile situations. While injury is possible with any form of exercise – we’re proud to say that injuries are very rare here. We go to extreme lengths to make sure you learn Krav Maga in a safe, effective way.

Are these classes fun? Serious? Strict? Etc.?
